Gas Distribution

Enaon, an ITALGAS Group company, is active in the field of natural gas distribution in Greece.

As the sole owner of the Distribution Network Operator, Enaon EDA (which today is the result of the merger of the pre-existing companies DEDA, EDA Thess and EDA Attikis) develops the gas network across a vast geographical expanse in the Greek territory, managing approximately 8.200 kilometers of network and more than 600.000 active delivery points.

The Distribution Network Operation Code (Government Gazette 487/B’/20.02.2017) and its 3rd amendment (Government Gazette B’ 3726 12.08.2021) regulate the rights and obligations of the Distribution Network Operator, the Users of the Distribution Network and of the End Customers connected to the Distribution Network and issues related to the management, maintenance, development, operation of the Distribution Network, as well as the terms and conditions of access of the Distribution Users to the Distribution Network and to the services provided by the Network Operator.

Enaon EDA provides Distribution Users and End Customers, according to the more specific terms and conditions of the Code, the following Distribution Services (Basic Activity) in the most economical, transparent and direct way, without discrimination between Distribution Users or End Customers:

  1. Receipt of Natural Gas quantities at the Entry Points by the NNGS Operator.
  2. Distribution of the quantities of Natural Gas through the Distribution Network.
  3. Delivery of Natural Gas quantities by the Operator to the Delivery Points.
  4. Ensuring the smooth, safe, reliable and uninterrupted technical operation of the Distribution Network, and monitoring through control systems.
  5. Measurement of the amount of Natural Gas delivered to the Delivery Points.


The sole shareholder of the Company is the company under the corporate name “Italgas Newco società per azioni”, with distinctive title: Italgas NewCo S.p.A., registered office in Milan, Carlo Bo, 11 street, – 20143, with Italian companies’ registry number: 11308670964 and tax identification number: 11308670964.

 Delivery Points and End Customer Categories

 During 2024 and through the distribution network of Attica region, Enaon EDA supplied 202.914 delivery points (end points of gas consumption), serving in total more than 443.000 final customers:

  • residential customers (central heating or individual heating)
  • commercial customers (professional and large commercial customers e.g.hospitals, hotels)
  • industrial customers and
  • customers with gas air conditioning

 

The total quantity of natural gas distributed in the distribution network of Enaon EDA’s for 2024 amounted to 3.687.459 MWh.

During 2024 and through the distribution network of Thessaloniki region, Enaon EDA supplied 287.953 delivery points (end points of gas consumption), serving in total more than 300.000 final customers:

  • residential customers (central heating or individual heating)
  • commercial customers (professional and large commercial customers e.g.hospitals, hotels)
  • industrial customers and
  • compressed natural gas stations (CNG stations).

 

The total quantity of natural gas distributed in the distribution network of Enaon EDA’s for 2024 amounted to 2.981.548 MWh.

During 2024 and through the distribution network of Thessaly region, Enaon EDA supplied 124.723 delivery points (end points of gas consumption), serving in total more than 142.000 final customers:

  • residential customers (central heating or individual heating)
  • commercial customers (professional and large commercial customers e.g.hospitals, hotels)
  • industrial customers and
  • compressed natural gas stations (CNG stations).

 

The total quantity of natural gas distributed in the distribution network of Enaon EDA’s for 2024 amounted to 1.965.934 MWh.

During 2024 and through the distribution networks of the Rest of Greece, Enaon EDA supplied 7.402 delivery points (end points of gas consumption), serving:

  • residential customers (central heating or individual heating)
  • commercial customers (professional and large commercial customers e.g.hospitals, hotels) and
  • industrial customers

 

The total quantity of natural gas distributed in the distribution network of Enaon EDA’s for 2024 amounted to 3.087.142 MWh.
